Structural Selective Racking

Trimet Storage Solutions recently completed a structural selective racking project for an energy sector client in Spruce Grove. The system included 56 bays, each 12 feet wide and 27 feet tall, designed to support the client’s large-scale storage needs while maintaining direct access to materials.

The project required more than a standard racking layout. The client’s facility had strict fire safety and sprinkler system requirements, which meant the storage system needed to be designed carefully to meet compliance standards without reducing capacity, accessibility, or operational efficiency.

Trimet’s team re-engineered the racking layout to integrate fire baffle sheets on the top level, helping the system meet fire suppression requirements while preserving the functionality of the storage area. Trimet also managed the permitting process directly with the city, supporting a smoother approval process and helping prevent unnecessary project delays.

The result was a high-efficiency, fully compliant storage system that maximized warehouse space while meeting the safety requirements of an energy-sector facility.
