18,000 Sq Ft Freestanding Mezzanine by Trimet

Some storage challenges require more than a standard system — they require custom engineering, careful coordination, and the ability to design around how a facility actually operates.

Trimet Storage Solutions recently completed an 18,000 sq. ft. freestanding mezzanine for a leading exterior home building products manufacturer. The client needed to maximize vertical space for large products such as doors and windows, while maintaining enough open floor area for large carts to move safely and efficiently.

One of the key project requirements was a minimum 40-foot span between columns. This was a significant design challenge, as many standard mezzanine systems could not accommodate the client’s need for wide, open space.

Trimet engineered a custom open-web joist steel deck mezzanine that achieved the required 40-foot span, giving the client the durability, clearance, and functionality needed for their storage operations. The system also included a concrete floor on the steel deck to support heavy use and long-term performance.

From design and procurement through manufacturing and installation coordination, the project reflects the specialized problem-solving and practical execution that Cenmax Group is proud to support across our companies.

The result was a durable, purpose-built mezzanine that helped the client increase storage capacity without compromising workflow or floor-level accessibility.
