Supporting Calgary’s Growing Communities: Belmont Fieldhouse Structural Steel Contribution
Construction is well underway on the new Belmont Fieldhouse and Library in southwest Calgary — a dynamic civic facility that will bring indoor recreation, community space, and learning opportunities to one of the city’s fastest-growing neighbourhoods. Slated to open in 2027, the roughly 118,000‑square‑foot facility will include a multi‑sport artificial turf field, spectator viewing areas, dressing rooms, and community spaces, alongside an adjacent 10,000‑square‑foot public library operated by the Calgary Public Library.
As part of this transformative civic project, Solico Metal — a Cenmax Group company — is proud to be providing the structural steel components and fabrication that form the backbone of the Fieldhouse’s durable and resilient framework. Solico’s work reflects our commitment to high‑quality, locally made steel solutions that support major infrastructure developments across Alberta.
The Belmont Fieldhouse is part of the City of Calgary’s long‑term strategy to expand year‑round recreation and community facilities under the GamePLAN framework, which aims to close gaps in indoor sport and public amenities as the city’s population grows. The integrated design intentionally combines athletic, social, and learning environments, making the facility a central hub for connection, health, and activity.
